DREAM Workplace helps a plant manager turn his career around.
We were asked to help a plant manager of a major manufacturing firm turn things around in his career. There had been a significant period of prosperity where business was really great however when a downturn in the economy occurred many problematic issues began to emerge. Prosperous times tend to cover a multitude of inefficiencies. Hard times however tend to shine a glaring spotlight on those same inefficiencies.
Harold, the plant manager had gotten in the habit of placing too much trust in his subordinates without verifying the information that he was receiving. Harold’s subordinates had gotten into the habit of telling him what he wanted to hear. As a result of this, much of the information that he was passing on to his superiors in senior management was in simply wrong or grossly accurate. The situation had become so dire that Harold’s long-term career with the company was in serious jeopardy.
Through DREAM Workplace’s coaching process we walked this manager through the steps required to turn things around. We helped him develop an organized system for gathering and verifying information, create better lines of communication from the front-lines of his facility all the way through to the senior managers to whom he reported. Now, more than ten years later, Harold is still gainfully employed with the same company today.
“I would like to take a moment to share my comments about DREAM Workplace and Bobby Weber. From being on the selection committee to being a participant to being a Manager recommending this program. DREAM Workplace teaches People who are new to Management and refreshes seasoned Managers skills that are necessary to be a successful Manager. I believe the program exposes Managers to experiences, from DREAM Workplace and others, which teaches them what to do in most any given situation. I would certainly recommend that managers at any level go through the program. Bobby is a great teacher and has the skills to teach on any level of management. Great program, great information, and great teacher.”
